About TACTICAL Writing Workshops
Information Mapping® is taught in a series of hands-on workshops called TACTICAL Writing Workshops. The workshops will equip you with the essential skills to write clear, concise content so that your readers can easily find the information they need and use it.
Current workshop modules
TACTICAL Writing Foundation
Each workshop package starts with a one day Foundation. Once you have completed the Foundation you can undertake any module, in any order, that you choose. The Foundation must be successfully completed, before any other workshop can be undertaken.
Policies, Procedures and Documentation
Policies, Procedures and Documentation is a two day module that will guide you through analysing, organising and presenting complex manual-sized content that is user-focused, task oriented, accessible and easy to revise.
Developing Effective Business Documents.
Developing Effective Business Documents is a one day module that teaches you how to write reader-focused reports, emails, memos and job-aids that people understand and take seriously. This workshop module will give you practical templates and business tools that can be used everyday in your organisation.
Writing Web Content.
Writing for the web is very different from writing for paper. In this one day module you will learn how to write web content that is concise, easily scannable and gives your users the information they need. This workshop module will also give you guidelines for using links, sound, video, pod-casts and other web-specific media.
In-house or public
TACTICAL Writing Workshops are currently run by TACTICS' partner company - Pollak Learning Alliance.
Pollak Learning Alliance operates regular public workshops in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra. Pollak Learning Alliance can also offer in-house workshops anywhere around Australia. In-house workshops are the most affordable option if you have several people in an organisation, who need to be trained.
